Labs need activity and exercise but during those hot months take walks early in the morning or late evening. The heat can be just as uncomfortable for your dog as it is for you! Remember that hot asphalt can burn the pads of your dogs paws and it can be very painful.
Rule of Thumb: Press the back of your hand against the asphalt for 7-10 seconds. If it’s uncomfortable for you, then it is uncomfortable for your dog.
